'Hurting' - Ian Burchnall's verdict as Notts County thumped at home by Woking

Ian Burchnall rued a mad eight-minute spell as Notts County were heavily beaten by Woking at Meadow Lane.

The Magpies were in front in the first half when Ruben Rodrigues finished off a superb move.

But in a disastrous final 20 minutes, former Notts striker Inih Effiong pulled Woking level before Moussa Diarra headed in the second.

Another former Magpies forward Tahvon Campbell then sealed the win for the visitors with two clinical finishes.

And head coach Burchnall said: "We lost the game in eight minutes, not 20.

"For the first 45 minutes, I thought we were good. We controlled the game. We created a lot and I don't think they had one single shot.

"Anthony Patterson made just one save from a corner. They had five minutes at the start of the second half and then we were back to creating chances again.

"Aaron and Kyle had chances and I felt like we were going to get a second.

"I am so disappointed about the nature of the goals. They go long and they pick up a second ball in the box and hit it home.

"And then the next two are set-pieces. We knew they were going to be good at them. We are hurting. We missed key players like Kyle Cameron who has been so valuable to us.

"But we have to step up. We can't afford to give teams like this such unnecessary goals from set-pieces. It's really hard to get back into it.

"That mad eight minutes and the game is dead. We are then chasing it and the last goal just comes from being all over the place trying to get back into the game."
