'Hurt them' - Millwall boss Gary Rowett sends message ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Millwall boss Gary Rowett has said there are plenty of areas his side can exploit against Nottingham Forest on Friday.

The Reds travel to the capital looking to maintain their Sky Bet Championship promotion push at the Den.

Millwall parted company with long-serving manager Neil Harris in October, and replaced him with former Derby County man Rowett.

Rowett has taken charge of seven Championship games for the Lions, winning three, drawing three and losing just the once. They are unbeaten at home under Rowett.

Now the ex-Birmingham City man will be looking to take another three points against Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds.

Forest go into the game on the back of a 1-0 home defeat to Cardiff City but fourth in the Championship table.

“They’re a good side, a really good side,” Rowett told Millwall’s official club website. “They’ve got a very good coach in Lamouchi and are really well structured, particularly away from home.

“I think it’s always difficult at home and away from home to gauge a team’s style because sometimes they can be very different. The games we’ve seen away from home they have predominantly sat in and countered.

“They’ve got players to counter very effectively. Joe Lolley, Grabban, Carvalho – those sorts of players have got really good quality in transition.

“It’s something we have to be mindful of, and we have to make sure we maintain our shape really well.

“But there are also lots of areas we feel – particularly as the home team – we can hurt them.”
