Hurricane Energy finance chief resigns

The chief financial officer of North Sea oil and gas explorer Hurricane Energy has resigned.

Chaffe joined in 2016 having previously been finance director at EOG Resources in the UK and worked for Ernst & Young.

Steven McTiernan, chairman of Hurricane, said: "We thank Alistair Stobie for his contribution to Hurricane and are pleased that Richard Chaffe has agreed to assume the role of Acting Chief Financial Officer. He has considerable finance and audit experience both within Hurricane and the wi der oil and gas sector."

Shares in Hurricane Energy have plummeted from a high of more than 60p last May to 14p.
