Hurricane Danielle has become the first of hurricane season after being upgraded from a tropical storm earlier today.
The storm is currently a few hundred miles west of the Azores in the mid-Atlantic and is set to travel through the Atlantic over the next couple of days.
The Hurricane Centre in the US said Danielle's maximum winds were 75 mph as of earlier today and it is considered a category 1 hurricane as it stands.

Danielle is currently no threat to land, but the remnants could eventually reach Ireland over the next week.
Carlow Weather's Alan O'Reilly said: "Tropical Storm #Danielle is expected to become the first hurricane of the season today. Weather models show it slowly moving Northeast but it’s of no concern to Ireland in the coming days. We’ll keep an eye on where the remnants might go though."
But hurricanes are the last concern for those at Electric Picnic this weekend with a complete washout expected and weather warnings issued
A status yellow rainfall warning is in place from 9pm on Saturday until midday on Sunday for the entire country.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Saturday will be cloudy and wet in the north and east, with rain slowly clearing northeastwards through the afternoon. The south and west will have sunny spells, however scattered heavy showers will pass through at times, some of these potentially with thunder. Cooler tomorrow with highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with a moderate south to southeast breeze.
"Strong winds will abate on Sunday morning as heavy rain clears northwards. It will be a breezy day with sunny spells and some scattered showers.
"By evening, a further band of heavy rain will push in across the southern half of the country and winds will strengthen. Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees in fresh and gusty southeast winds. Rain will clear northwards overnight with clear spells and scattered showers following. Minimum temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh and blustery southeast winds."
