'Hunting knife and drugs found' after police stop vehicle in Lidl car park

A man has been charged with possession of a hunting knife and crack cocaine and heroin after a car was stopped and searched in a Lidl car park.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary said plain clothed officers stopped a vehicle in the car park off Earl Russell Way in Lawrence Hill around 2.30pm yesterday (July 26).

Police said officers were carrying out proactive patrols in the area.

Sakaria Abdi, 23, of Belmont Street in Bristol, has been charged with two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply (crack cocaine and heroin) and possession of a knife in a public place.

Abdi is due to appear before Bristol Magistrates’ Court today (July 27).
