Hunting daggers, machetes, knuckle dusters and 'fake guns': The terrifying hoard of weapons found at a house

This is the terrifying hoard of weapons discovered by police following a raid at a house in Leigh.

Officers stormed the house on Friday morning and arrested three men on suspicion of drug dealing.

They remain in custody for questioning.

As well as Class A and B drugs, police also found a number of weapons scattered throughout the property.

It was claimed the weapons were for 'hunting' (GMP Leigh)

They included imitation firearms - two of which have been sent off for expert analysis, hunting daggers and what appears to be two machete-like blades.

Knuckle dusters were also seized.

GMP Leigh, Atherton and Hindley shared images of the find on social media, saying the men arrested claimed the weapons were for 'hunting'.

Officers posted: "The Neighbourhood Team and the Divisional Tasking Team (DTT) have done a drugs warrant in the Leigh area.

"Three males in custody on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs with the intent to supply - still helping with enquiries.

"The following items were also found at the address - Shows what officers may face when they enter premises.

"The detained males said they go hunting."

Sgt Simon Barrie said two of the men arrested were aged 51, the other 23.

Daggers and knives were among the weapons seized (GMP Leigh)

He said the raid this morning was part of Operation Lever, and will be 'the first of many'.

He added: "The community will notice high visibility patrols in the area going forward as we follow up on today's warrant, which was only possible thanks to the information and intelligence received from the community.

"We hope to bring an end to the blight that organised crime gangs and drug dealing has on our community, and urge anyone with information relating to these issues to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

"We will act upon it, and today's warrant was just the first of many."
