Hunterfield Terrace in Gorebridge locked down as armed police arrest teen

Armed police swooped on an address in Gorebridge yesterday afternoon before arresting a teenage boy.

Hunterfield Terrace in Gorebridge was closed off by officers with residents reporting around six police cars in attendance.

Police were at the scene from 4.30pm to around 8.40pm, as concerned locals looked on. Pictures from the scene showed officers in black uniforms and helmets move in on a property.

This morning Police Scotland confirmed that a number of BB guns had been recovered from an address there and a teenager had been arrested.

A spokesperson said: " Police in Midlothian can confirm that a 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with a communications offence.

“The incident was reported to police around 4.30pm on Tuesday, April 9. Officers attended an address in Hunterfield Terrace, Gorebridge, and were later stood down at 8.40pm.

“A number of BB guns were recovered and inquiries into this mater are ongoing. The 16-year-old will appear at court at a later date.”
