Hunter schools evacuated as bushfires blaze across NSW

For updated information about Wednesday closures, visit: Most Hunter schools and University of Newcastle campuses to reopen on Wednesday after NSW bushfires

TWELVE schools in the Upper Hunter and Northern NSW have been evacuated.

The Department of Education added Greta, Kirkton and Branxton public schools at around 2.30pm to a list of nine schools evacuated earlier this afternoon:

Barrington Public School
Bendemeer Public School
Gloucester High School
Gloucester Public School
Moonbi Public School
Nowendoc Public School
Stratford Public School
Stroud Public School
Stroud Road Public School
