AGED just 12, Edgeworth's Wade Neilsen has already had what is likely to be his biggest brush with fame in his performing career.
Wade, who is one of four boys sharing the lead role in Billy Elliot the Musical, got to meet Sir Elton John when he attended the Thursday night performance at the Sydney Lyric Theatre.
Sir Elton wrote the music for the show and his husband David Furnish is an executive producer.

The couple watched the show before Sir Elton donned a tutu and stood next to Wade for the curtain call.
Lucky Star Media, which is promoting the production, said Sir Elton "praised the entire cast telling them it was a phenomenal production and how proud they were to see their performance".
