The Hunter and Central Coast have been allocated 16 probationary constables across five police districts.
One hundred and eighty-nine new officers graduated from the NSW Police Academy on Friday in a ceremony at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The new recruits are set to begin work on Monday.
From this cohort, three probationary constables were allocated to Hunter Valley and Port Stephens-Hunter police districts, while two were posted to the Newcastle City command.
Tuggerah Lakes and Brisbane Water police districts will each receive four graduates.
"I know from personal experience that my attestation was a very proud moment in my professional policing career," Commissioner Mick Fuller said.
"It has been a challenging year for the state of NSW and police have taken on an extraordinary role in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic threat, alongside the other critical issues we have faced this year.
"The 2020 recruits have undertaken their studies during COVID restrictions, and this too has presented some distinctive challenges. I feel confident they've got what it takes to face any emerging issues ahead."
