
Unleaded petrol prices are rising again across the Hunter, with the average cost increasing by around 10 cents per litre in the past week.
New pricing figures from NRMA show that the cost of regular unleaded in Newcastle was an average of 121.7 cents per litre for the week ending June 14 - a jump of 12.5 cents per litre from the previous week.
The cost of unleaded petrol jumped by 21.1 cents per litre on the Central Coast - to 126.6 cents per litre - while the price increased by 11.7 cents per litre in Muswellbrook (119.6), 9.4 cents per litre in Maitland (121.3) and 7 cents per litre at Singleton (115.9).
The average price rise across regional NSW was 2.7 cents per litre.
The week's most expensive average price across the state was at Tweed Heads South, with 134.6 cents per litre, while the cheapest average was at Orange, where it was 108 cents per litre.
NRMA noted Maitland and Muswellbrook as being among the six areas in regional NSW with the most notable price rises for the week.

Among the global influential factors for the period, the motoring group said the average crude oil price increased by 1.8 cents per litre and Sydney's terminal gate price increased by 3.3 cents per litre.
The NRMA's latest weekly petrol price report said coronavirus-related demand amid concerns about a possible second wave of COVID-19 was one of the key influencing global factors.
The ongoing price rise comes after the Hunter region experienced its cheapest unleaded petrol in more than 15 years last month.
The Newcastle Herald reported at the time that petrol was being sold for under 90 cents per litre at some outlets in the Newcastle and Maitland areas.
