
A HUNTER man and woman have been charged over drug importation after an international package allegedly containing MDMA was intercepted.
The package was intercepted in September and allegedly contained 500gm of 3,4-methylenedioxy-N-
Detectives from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District began an investigation into the importation and supply of MDMA in the region.
On Wednesday a search warrant was executed at a home on Tarrango Street, Cliftleigh and a 32-year-old woman was arrested.
Later that day, a 30-year-old man returned to the home and he was arrested, police said.
Both were taken to Maitland police station and charged with attempt possess commercial quantities of unlawfully imported border controlled drug and supply prohibited drug.
They were refused bail to face Maitland Local Court on Thursday.
