FOUR new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed for the Hunter New England health region.
On Saturday afternoon, Hunter New England confirmed the additional cases, taking the total for the health district to 269.
In NSW, there were 44 additional cases confirmed as at 8pm on Friday, April 10, taking the state's total to 2866. Across Australia, there has been a total of 6289.
A 91-year-old woman from NSW was confirmed as the latest death for NSW. There have been 23 COVID-19 deaths in NSW and 56 in Australia.
The John Hunter Hospital lost its first COVID-19 patient this week, after a 69-year-old man died.
There are nine COVID-19 patients in Hunter New England hospitals, including four in intensive care.
Hunter New England said a further seven patients had recovered in the past 24 hours, taking the region's total recoveries to 171.
The following testing clinics will operate as usual over the long weekend:
. The Belmont Hospital Clinic drive-through service will operate between 8am-4.30pm each day - call ahead for screening before attending the clinic on 4923 2211.
. The John Hunter Hospital Clinic will continue to operate between 8am-10.30pm each day
. The Manning Hospital Clinic will operate between 8am-4.30pm each day - please call ahead for
screening before attending the clinic on 6592 9850.
The Calvary Mater Newcastle Clinic will be closed Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
The Maitland Hospital Clinic will be closed Easter Sunday and reopen Easter Monday between 10am and 4pm.
