A man has died after crashing into a tree in the Hunter Valley.
Police and emergency services arrived on the scene, on the New England Highway at Muswellbrook, about 2.45pm on Wednesday, June 10.
They found the driver, believed to be 73, trapped inside his car after it left the road and crashed into a tree.
He died at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics to revive him. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Specialist investigators were working to determine the cause of the crash, police said in a statement. Anyone with information has been urged to come forward. Contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
