A Windale man will appear in Newcastle court on Tuesday charged over the alleged armed robbery of a grocery story in Redhead.
The 18-year-old was arrested by Lake Macquarie officers at a Windale home about 2pm on Monday before being taken to Belmont police station, where he was charged robbery armed with offensive weapon.
It will be alleged the man entered the Cowlishaw Street store on April 7 and threatened an employee with a knife, before stealing cigarettes and running away.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
