HUNTER dam levels have soared past the high points reached after the Pasha Bulker and April 2015 superstorms, new data shows.
Figures released on Friday show the official storage level for the region at 100 per cent, rounded up slightly.
Both Grahamstown and Chichester dams, as well as Tomago sandbeds, are at 100 per cent capacity according to Hunter Water. Anna Bay sandbeds, is at 99.2 per cent of its 16,000 megalitres.
"Essentially storages are as full as they can be," a Hunter Water spokesman said.
"Overall storages are at 99.95% and, due to rounding, storages have reached 100% capacity for the first time since 2001."
It is the first time Hunter storages have hit the official 100 per cent mark since 2001.
The figures are a marked change on this time last year, with both Tomago and Anna Bay sandbeds up just under 40 per cent compared with the April 2020 levels.
Grahamstown is 31.8 per cent higher than the same time last year.
The heavy rain that delivered flooding to so much of the state delivered marked change at Tomago, where levels are 30.9 per cent higher than a month ago.
