This year's AFL Hunter Central Coast's senior competitions, featuring the Black Diamond Cup men's and women's divisions, will start on July 18.
The tick of approval was given at an AFL HCC board meeting on Thursday night. It follows on from the NSW government's announcement earlier this week that community sport could return next month.
An abbreviated 12-round season will be capped off with two weeks of knockout finals. Top four semis (1v4, 2v3) followed by a decider at Tuggerah on October 17.
"If someone had of said, two or three months ago, we'd be playing a 12-week season with finals you'd take it," AFL NSW-ACT northern regional manager Simon Smyth said.
"I think everybody is just going to be happy to play footy again."
There are set to be five grades - three for men and two for women.
Clubs now have until June 26 to nominate teams.
The AFLHCC junior competitions for 2020, revealed last week, will run on a similar timeline kicking off July 19 and wrapping up October 18.
