Hunter Biden takes aggressive ‘new approach’ in laptop case

Hunter Biden’s “new approach” to combating information leaked from a laptop once said to have been his includes a slew of legal letters sent to Federal agencies, conservative activists and the computer repairman responsible for handing over the machine.

“This marks a new approach by Hunter Biden and his team,” according to a CBS News source. “He is not going to sit quietly by as questionable characters continue to violate his rights and media organizations peddling in lies try to defame him.”

The president’s 52-year-old son has kept largely quiet since the public release of laptop photos that appeared to show him in compromising positions. Conservative lawmakers say they intend to investigate content from that computer for proof of illegal activity and potential impropriety involving the president.

On Wednesday, attorneys working for Hunter Biden went on offense, asking the Department of Justice, the IRS and the attorney general in Delaware — where repairman John Paul Mac Isaac said Biden abandoned the computer in 2019 — to investigate if laws were broken “in accessing, copying, manipulating, and/or disseminating Mr. Biden’s personal computer data.”

An attorney for Biden told CBS the letters sent Wednesday do not validate information from any “versions of a so-called laptop.”

A letter was also sent to Fox News asking for a retraction from host Tucker Carlson — a former friend of Biden’s — who accused him of running “a money laundering scheme to finance President Biden’s lifestyle prior to his election.”

Fox News’ lawyers successfully argued Carlson shouldn’t be taken literally in a 2020 defamation case where a federal judge agreed the primetime pundit “is not ‘stating actual facts’ about the topics he discusses.”

Isaac’s attorney called Biden’s legal wrangling as “a privileged person” trying to draw attention from his own “unlawful” actions. Biden has been charged with no crimes tied to the laptop.
