Hunter Biden defies subpoena; Congresswoman Mace condemns hypocrisy

Congresswoman Mace expresses dissatisfaction over inability to question Hunter Biden.

Congresswoman Nancy Mace of the House Oversight Committee weighed in her thoughts on a case involving Hunter Biden, expressing frustration over an inability to question him due to his refusal to comply with a congressional subpoena. Mace took issue with perceived hypocrisy on the Hill, especially among her Democratic colleagues, whom she accused of enforcing subpoenas against Republicans in recent years, yet defending Biden's defiance.

Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, was summoned as a part of an investigation examining his foreign business dealings. He has also been accused of enabling his father, Joe Biden, to profit from his ventures.

Mace's claims rest, in part, on alleged evidence found in Hunter Biden's emails and text messages, in which he supposedly mentions how his father had benefited from his enterprises. Mace further asserts that Joe Biden was actively involved in his son's businesses, implicating him in these accusations.

In a striking instance, Mace referred to a statement from Hunter Biden to his daughter, Naomi, where he specified how he had to bear the family's expenses for a good three decades. He allegedly added that unlike his father, he would not demand half of her salary. Mace considers this as a critical revelation, pointing towards Joe Biden's personal gains from his son's business activities.

Another figure who was referenced was Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren who spoke about other cases of subpoena refusal but specifics were not provided.

Mace underscored the inconsistencies and double standards in the process. She noted the difference in treatment for the Trump family, whom she alleges were subjected to lengthy depositions. In contrast, she believes Hunter Biden has been receiving preferential treatment because of his last name.

Mace concluded her statements affirming her dedication to pursuing this inquiry, denouncing what she considers an ongoing cycle of hypocrisy and lies. She emphasized that everyone should be held to the same laws and standards, regardless of their last name.
