Hunt starts for new IoD chair in Coventry and Warwickshire

Business trade body the Institute of Directors has launched the hunt for a new chair for its Coventry and Warwickshire branch.

The move comes as incumbent Dean Kavanagh steps down from the role.

Mr Kavanagh, who is managing director of Coventry-based environmental technology solutions provider QED Environmental Systems, was appointed to the post in 2019, succeeding David Trevis-Smith.

The position of chair runs for a three-year tenure.

The Institute of Directors (IoD) is a networking and lobbying group, which brings together senior business figures and also delivers professional development courses.

Inez Brown, chairwoman of the IoD in the West Midlands, said: "I'd like to say a huge thank you to Dean for his leadership of the branch, at a time that has forced all of us in business to adapt and change amid ongoing uncertainty.

"He will be a hard act to follow.

"Our new chair will help Coventry and Warwickshire directors to get the government support and skills they need to fulfil their potential while promoting the highest standards of corporate governance."
