Hunt launched for man over attempted robbery at Bishopbriggs shop

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery at a shop in Bishopbriggs.

Around 6.30pm on Friday, 12 February, a man attempted to rob the Usave shop on Auchinairn Road but left empty-handed before running in the direction of Kincardine Drive. Nobody was injured during the incident.

Local officers are now urging anyone with information to come forward.

The male suspect is described as white, around 6 ft 2 ins tall and was wearing a green parka jacket with the hood up, a black snood, grey trousers and grey trainers. He was possibly in the company of another man wearing dark clothing.

Constable Stuart Stevens, of the Robbery Unit, said: "Thankfully the member of staff was uninjured in this incident but has understandably been left shaken.

"I am appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time or recognises the description of the male suspect to come forward immediately. I am also asking anyone who was driving in the area and has a dash cam to check back and see if there is any footage that could be relevant to the investigation."

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2811 of 12 February, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
