Boy, 9, who vanished in pyjamas while putting bins out, found safe

Police issued an urgent appeal to help find a nine-year-old boy who went missing while putting the bins out.

Cole Bates, from Sutton Coldfield, was wearing pyjamas when he was last seen outside his home.

Detectives had become increasingly concerned for the boy's welfare.

West Midlands Police said on Twitter: "We are urgently appealing to trace Cole Bates. The nine-year-old from Sutton Coldfield has been missing for two hours and we are growing increasingly concerned for him.

"He was last seen wearing pyjamas with spaceships & rockets on. Call 999 if you see him.

"He went missing after he said he was going to put the bins out and we are growing increasingly concerned for him.

"Cole is described as white, approximately 4ft 9ins tall with brown curly hair and a mole on his nose.

"Call 999 if you see him or contact 101 or Live Chat with info."

Update: Police say the boy has been found safe and well.

They said on Twitter: "Missing nine-year-old Cole Bates has been found safe and well!

"A HUGE thank you to every person that shared our appeal, you rock."
