Police are seeking the help of the public in relation to a fire on a building site off Tyndrum Crescent in Hamilton at the weekend.

About 6.54pm on Sunday (April 25), officers attended the report of a fire in houses under construction in a building site which sits off Tyndrum Crescent in Hamilton.

The fires were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, however not before extensive damage had been caused.

Detective Constable Ryan Cairney of Lanarkshire CID said: “We are treating these fires as deliberate and are keen to identify and speak to two youths who were seen in the area around 6.40pm.

"One is aged about 15/16 years, was white, of slim build, red coloured hair, about 5’5” tall and was wearing light coloured jogging bottoms and a dark coloured top.

"The second boy was aged 16/17 years, again white, medium build, with dark short hair and was dressed all in black clothing.

"Anyone who has any information which might assist in this inquiry is asked to call us on the 101 number, quoting the reference 3225 of 25 April. Anyone wishing to pass on any information while remaining anonymous can do so through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
