Hunt for two men after 'lit petrol bomb' and brick thrown at cars outside home in south of Glasgow

Police are investigating an incident involving wilful fire raising and vandalism in a village in South Lanarkshire.

Detectives said a 'lit petrol bomb'-type object was thrown over a fence onto a driveway towards parked cars at an address in Baroness Drive, Thorntonhall. A brick was also thrown, causing damage to the back window of one of the vehicles.

The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning (October 27).

Detective Constable Chris McLaughlin, of Cambuslang CID, said: “Thankfully no extensive damage was caused. This was a reckless act which could have caused significantly more harm and will not be tolerated.

“Two men were seen getting out of a dark coloured hatchback. I am appealing to anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area, or who has dash-cam or CCTV footage of people or vehicles to contact us immediately.

“If you have information please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1409 of Sunday 27 October, or contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
