Hunt for missing Airdrie schoolboy whose disappearance 'completely out of character'

Police are searching for a missing Airdrie schoolboy who suddenly vanished from his home.

15-year-old Cameron Notman was last seen in his house on Howletnest Road in Craigneuk shortly after 5pm yesterday.

Police describe the teenager's disappearance as 'completely out of character' as his family grow increasingly concerned for his wellbeing.

Cameron is described as white, around 5’ 10”in height, with a slim build and short brown hair. When last seen he was wearing light coloured grey jogging bottoms, a grey coloured hooded top and Nike make trainers.

A statement published by the Lanarkshire Police Division says: "We are appealing for the assistance of the public in trying to locate a 15-year-old boy missing from Airdrie since early on Wednesday evening.

"Cameron Notman (15), was last seen around 5.15pm on Wednesday, 9 December 2020, when he left his home in Howletnest Road in Craigneuk, Airdrie.

"Cameron is white, around 5’ 10”in height, with a slim build and short brown hair.  When last seen he was wearing light coloured grey jogging bottoms, a grey coloured hooded top and Nike make trainers.

"Officers are speaking to family and friends for any information which could assist their enquiries."

Inspector John O’Neill at Coatbridge Police Office commented: "Our concerns for Cameron are growing and his family and friends are understandably very worried and just want to know he is safe and well.

"This behaviour is completely out of character for Cameron.

"If anyone has seen Cameron, or has any information or knowledge regarding his whereabouts, please contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting the reference number 3542 of 9 December."
