Hunt for man who travels up and down the country stealing guitars from hire shops

A serial guitar thief wanted nationwide could have travelled through Liverpool while on the run.

Police are asking for help to find Kenneth Bloxham, who has spent some time on Merseyside, police think.

He is wanted by officers in London, Surrey, Sussex, Essex and the West Midlands.

He is suspected of committing fraud and theft offences up and down the country.

Bloxham allegedly hires guitars from music shops - which he then fails to return.

Metropolitan Police officers say he is known to have travelled across the UK - including Bournemouth, Liverpool , Eastbourne, West Sussex, Birmingham, Manchester, Preston and Leicester - committing thefts in many of the places he visits.

A Met spokesman said: "Police are appealing for help to trace a man they wish to speak with in connection with fraud and theft offences across the country.

"Kenneth Bloxham - who may use aliases - is currently wanted in connection with offences across five force areas.

"He is suspected of fraudulently hiring guitars from music shops which he then fails to return.

"Anyone with information is asked to call the South Area Fugitive Unit."

On Facebook, police joked: "We've heard some really dire reviews - so we would love him to come in and talk to us, maybe even sing us a song, regarding the several offences he is suspected of that include the alleged hiring of guitars from music shops and which he never returned with."

Anyone with any information can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
