Hunt for hooded men seen deliberately setting car on fire outside Maryhill house

Two cars have been damaged after a deliberate blaze outside a house in Maryhill.

Detectives are appealing for information after the incident on Hugo Close around 12.40am on Tuesday, June 22.

Investigations so far have revealed that two men approached the driveway of the house and set a Volkswagen Golf on fire. The fire caused extensive damage to the car and also damaged another car next to it.

No-one was injured during this incident.

Detective Constable Holly Canning said: “Luckily no-one was injured during this incident. Our investigation is continuing to establish more details.

"We have been carrying out enquiries and checking local CCTV for more information on the two men responsible for setting this fire. They were both wearing grey hooded tops and I would appeal to anyone who saw them acting suspiciously in the area to contact us.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference number 0119 of 22 June. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
