Hunt for drunk man who 'inappropriately touched' woman on commuter train from Cardiff to Newport

Police are hunting for a drunk man who "inappropriately touched" a woman who was travelling alone on a train between Cardiff and Newport.

Officers are appealing for witnesses which happened between 5.10pm and 5.25pm on Thursday, February 6.

The woman got on the Transport for Wales train, which was bound for Cheltenham Spa, at Cardiff Central and sat at the front of the rear carriage.

British Transport Police said a drunk man sat next to the woman and began talking to her, before touching her inappropriately. The man refused to move for a while when the woman attempted to leave her seat.

The suspect is described as a bald, white man, aged between 50 and 70 years old, wearing a white top with a black coat and a black and yellow baseball cap.

Police are asking for any witnesses to the incident to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting the reference 2000012526 .
