Hunt for driver who fled scene after crash involving bus

A driver is being hunted by police after leaving the scene of a crash involving two cars and a bus.

The motorist - believed to be behind the wheel of a dark Ford Focus - drove off after the smash in south Liverpool this morning.

Their car and a Vauxhall Aglia and Arriva bus were involved in the crash on the junction of busy Green Lane  and Menlove Avenue around 7.40am.

The road was blocked as emergency services including fire and police attended the scene.

An ambulance was called but at this stage police said it is not believed anybody was seriously injured.

But today a spokesman for Merseyside Police told the ECHO they were hunting a driver who opted to drive away from the crash scene.

He said: "We were called to a collision involving what we believe was a Ford Focus, Vauxhall Aglia and and Arriva bus.

"We believe the Ford Focus has made off and enquiries are ongoing to track that vehicle down."
