Police are on the hunt for a 9ft snake after it was spotted by terrified locals.
The snake - a reticulated python - went missing in the early hours of Sunday morning (June 30) from an area in the north of Cambridge.
Officers say they have a confirmed sighting of the potentially deadly predator that is now on the loose, CambridgeshireLive reported .
They also confirmed reports that the reptile was 9ft long.
Reticulated pythons are the world's longest snake species - and also one of the heaviest weighing in at around 160kg.

Like all pythons, it is a constrictor and crushes its prey to death by wrapping itself around them before devouring them.
Although native to south-east Asia people in the UK are allowed to keep them as pets.
Police tweeted at 2.30am Sunday morning: "In the early hours of this morning officers attended the area of Lovell Rd Cambridge [after] reports of a three meter snake seen in the area.
"Police have located the owner but not the reticulated python confirmed to be 9ft long.

"Any sightings please notify Cambs police on 101."
This isn't the first time a snake has been loose in the city either, with a massive corn snake found in Arbury by police in May.
The snake has been known to attack humans, with an incident in Indonesia where a reticulated python swallowed a 54-year-old woman whole.
Last week a man died after being strangled by his pet snake as he tried to bathe it, according to reports.
The 42-year-old is believed to have been found by his child after the 2.5 stone reptile wrapped itself around him and killed him.
The man, identified as Jana in reports in Indonesia, was buried alongside his three-metre long pet, which was killed by villagers.
