Hunt for bogus delivery driver who attacked homeowner before stealing £150,000 Bentley

Police are hunting a bogus delivery driver caught on CCTV who tied up a man in his own home before robbing him of his £150,000 Bentley Continental.

The suspect was part of a five-strong gang who targeted the homeowner at his property in Dudley, West Midlands, between 6pm and 7pm on November 19.

The victim had opened the door to what he believed was a delivery driver carrying a parcel and wearing a high-vis jacket.

But the thug forced his way into the semi-detached property before four other men leapt from a white Transit van.

They bound the victim’s hands with cable ties and punched him in the face while making demands for cash and keys to his Bentley Continental 6.0 GT Coupe.

The gang also forced his wife to lie face down on the floor while they searched their home for around 45 minutes.

Once the door was open the bogus delivery driver forced his way in followed by accomplices who emerged from a white Transit van (SWNS)

West Midlands Police have now released CCTV showing the first offender approaching the house in the hope someone will recognise him.

He is described as being a light skinned black man, possibly mixed race, around 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall and aged in his 30s or 40s.

Despite checking road cameras officers have been able to locate the Transit van or the Bentley since the terrifying robbery.

It’s suspected the offenders swapped number plates on the Bentley, worth up to £150,000 brand new, shortly after it was taken.

A police spokesperson said: "We’re asking anyone who was driving in the area at the time to check dash-cam footage to see if they have caught the Bentley and van on camera.

"Or if anyone recalls seeing men changing number plates on the Bentley somewhere nearby to also get in touch."
