SUPHAN BURI: A two-year-old Myanmar boy missing for nine days has been found dead in a sugarcane field in U Thong district.
The discovery yesterday ended a full-scale search for the boy, whose body showed sign of having been attacked, police said.
Suphan Buri governor Nimit Wanchaithanawong earlier yesterday ordered 700 volunteers to search the sugarcane plantation to try and find the missing toddler.
Salui Piew, the son of migrant workers from Myanmar, went missing on Dec 17 when he went out to play near the sugarcane plantation where his parents worked.
His body was discovered around 4.30pm yesterday about 5 kilometres away from where he went missing, Thai media reported.
When found the boy looked to have suffered head injuries.
A post mortem was being conducted out yesterday to determine whether the boy died as a result of foul play.
