Council bosses in Dundee have begun their search for the city's next Citizen of the Year - and they're looking for your help in finding nominees.
Each year Dundee City Council celebrates someone - typically a selfless volunteer - for their contributions to their community over the last 12 months and beyond.
Last year's winner was Samantha Bruce, who operates the Food for Thought community larders in Charleston and Lochee and continued to do so throughout the pandemic.
Other recent winners include retired nurse Norma McGovern, Whitfield campaigner George Roberts, Charleston stalwart Stella Carrington and looked after children advocate Andrew Lorimer.
Nominations can be made by completing a digital application form available on the Dundee City Council website - and the winner will have their name engraved on a trophy shared with past victors.
Lord Provost Ian Borthwick said: “For years now we have been celebrating the city’s outstanding individuals who humbly carry out work benefiting the community.
“The title of Citizen of the Year is a special one because it is awarded to someone who, normally on a voluntary basis, provides outstanding service to the community.
“In choosing Dundee’s Citizen of the Year we look in particular for selfless service to a voluntary body or the community or someone whose service activities bring distinction and quality to everyday life in Dundee.
“The past year has been a year like no other and it has been inspiring to see how individuals have gone above and beyond to support those around them.
“I have no doubt that we will get a high calibre of nominees, which will truly reflect the spirit of Dundee.”
Nominations can be made until December 31, and while there is no age barrier nominees must live within the Dundee City Council area.
Full information, and copies of the nomination form, can be found on the council's website.
