Hungry punters invited to take on 6,000-calorie steak which weighs same as newborn baby

A pub has put their punters to the test to complete a steak weighing a whopping 100oz - the same weight as a newborn baby

The Black Ladd Pub, in Greater Manchester, announced the beef banquet of a 6,000-calorie rump steak, glazed in garlic butter with a healthy serving of onion rings and chips on the side.

Manager, Keiran Leach, has challenged those to eat the mammoth steak in 60 minutes - or fork out £59.95 for the entire meal.

So far, the feast has only faced one challenger, who was thrashed by the spread.

Keiran said: "I think he did well, but the fact that he did well and only got that far shows how hard it would be to complete because you do have to finish everything.

"I think it would be one in a million for someone to be able to with the size it is."

This is not Kerian's first rodeo with a dinner competition, after he previously hosted a 46oz Tomahawk steak challenge.

He and the pub owner finished that steak challenge victoriously.

But the failure of his first ever challenger at the 100oz steak has certainly not lured away any interest.

Calls have been made from across the country - as far as Stoke, Cumbria and Scotland - to grab a chance at defeating the mighty meat feast.

Many on social media have voiced their support of the challenge, but some voiced their concerns about it being seemingly "wasteful" and unhealthy.

Kieran said: "I understand the point of it because it is a considerable amount of meat for one person, but it's them that are choosing to do that.

"From a business point of view we're trying to get publicity but we do understand it's a lot of meat for one person."

If any hungry munchers want a chance to complete the epic steak challenge, they have until the end of November to try it out.

The challenge in full:

100oz steak (6,000 calories), chips (378 calories), onion rings (300 calories), tomatoes (78 calories), mushrooms (135 calories), garlic butter (18 calories).
