Hungover hero on lads trip saved choking girl's life on flight from Benidorm

A hangover man returning home from a lads holiday saved a choking girl's life on a flight from Benidorm.

Jordan Lowrie, 25, has been hailed a hero after he sprung into action to save the girl while sleeping off the booze on a Ryanair flight.

The docker, from Netherfields, Teesside, heard panicked voices as he napped- before realising a four-year-old girl sat next to him was choking on a sweet.

Jordan said: "I could see a man hitting her back and chest, I jumped up, they were like 'she's not breathing'."

He knew exactly what to do - having watched a video which went viral on social media.

It showed two waiters saving a diner's life by performing the Heimlich Manouvre, grabbing the victim from behind and squeezing to dislodge the food and clear the airway.

He said: "I pushed the bloke out the way and I literally did the Heimlich manoeuvre.

"I performed that manoeuvre and she sort of spat out a mint."

He could not believe what had happened and after saving the tot's life he sat back down in his seat, stunned.

The girl's mum later Tweeted: "I just can't thank you enough for stepping in and saving my daughters life on that plane. I owe you my absolute life. You're our hero."

But Jordan, from Middlesbrough, said: "It's like that old cliché - nothing really went through my head.

"I shot up, did it and sat back down. But I was shaking afterwards."
