Ethan Jamieson, an actor who appeared in The Hunger Games, has been arrested in Raleigh, North Carolina, on felony assault charges after allegedly firing a gun at a moving vehicle.
Jamieson, 27, was arrested on 8 April and charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, according to court documents obtained by People magazine.
The incident took place on 22 March, when officers from the Raleigh Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 9.52pm local time.
A spokesperson for the Raleigh Police Department told Entertainment Weekly that “upon arrival, officers located the victim, who reported that an unknown suspect riding an e-bike had fired a shot at their vehicle while they were driving”.
“Two additional occupants were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Ethan Jamieson (27) as the individual who discharged a single gunshot in the direction of the victims’ vehicle,” the spokesperson said.
Court filings state that the alleged assault involved a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Jamiseon was denied bail on 9 April and is scheduled to appear for a disposition hearing on 30 April.
Online arrest records list Jamieson as a resident of Raleigh and show that he had previously been arrested on 21 March 2025 and charged with resisting a public officer, which makes this his second arrest within a year.
Jamieson is best known for his role in The Hunger Games, the 2012 adaptation of Suzanne Collins’s novel of the same name, in which he played the male tribute from District 4. The film starred Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Stanley Tucci, Wes Bentley, Elizabeth Banks, and Liam Hemsworth, and follows a dystopian society where children are selected to compete in a televised fight to the death as punishment for a past rebellion.
It earned more than $690m worldwide and went on to establish one of the most commercially successful young adult franchises in cinema. A new instalment, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, is scheduled for release on 20 November 2026 and will serve as a prequel set decades before the original story, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy during the 50th Hunger Games.
Beyond the franchise, his acting credits include a 2009 episode of One Tree Hill, the 2010 television film The Rusty Bucket Kids: Lincoln, Journey to 16, and a 2013 role in Justified, where he played Milo Truth.
