Hungarian Grand Prix 2019 qualifying times: Red Bull's Max Verstappen secures first career pole position

Red Bull's Max Verstappen will start on pole position for the first time in his career after finishing top of the qualifying session for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Dutchman continued his impressive run of form after two win in the last three races, pipping Valtteri Bottas by a hundredth of a second in the top-10 shootout.

Lewis Hamilton, a six-time winner at the Hungaroring, could only manage third place despite leading the timings in Q2.

The 34-year-old finished ninth at the German Grand Prix last weekend and failed to produce the champion performance the spectators are so used to seeing.
