A new exhibition was launched this week at the Alley Theatre from a Hungarian born artist who now resides in Co Tyrone.
‘Irish Sea and Landscapes’ by Rozalia Soros is showing until Friday 17 September in the Strabane theatre, with key themes of the landscape and the environment.
Rozalia’s work has been inspired by her adopted country, and has been featured in Hungary, Germany, Scotland, Paris, Romania, England, Northern Ireland and in many more locations as a part of private collections.
While the Hungarian artist has a limited level of English, it doesn’t stop her appreciation of the landscapes around her.
"With Rozalia's exhibition we are given the opportunity to experience our own island, it's streets and coastlines from the perspective of a visitor to this island who chose our land to express their feeling for nature,” Emma Devine from the Alley Theatre said.
“Rozalia's work is all the more evocative as, hailing from Hungary, a landlocked central European nation, she chose to relocate to Ireland to focus the majority of her works on our coastlines.
“I would encourage any who, like myself has felt restricted from experiencing nature as we would like over the past 18 months to attend Rozalia's exhibition and allow her passion for our coastlines to reinvigorate their own desire to experience what this island of ours has to offer.”
Rozália will also be offering a free painting class on Culture Night on Friday 17 September from 6.30pm, where she will share her painting skills and tips to those in the local area.
