Hundreds welcome festive season in Arnold for Christmas light switch on

Hundreds turned out to welcome the festive season in Arnold during the town's official Christmas light switch on.

The Christmas light switch on event took place on Friday evening (November 22) from 5pm with the Mayor of Gedling, Councillor Sandra Barnes, switching on the Christmas lights at 6.10pm.

Arnold's Eagle Square was packed with Yuletide revellers enjoying the Christmas market stalls, singing and entertainment.

On-stage entertainment included Christmas carols, bands and singers performing in the town.

The event includes an extended fun fair on Arnold Market and this will run later until 10pm on Friday and 9pm on the Saturday (November 23).

The Arnold Christmas lights were switched on by Mayor of Gedling, Councillor Sandra Barnes (Gedling Borough Council)

The outdoor market is open from from 11am until 5.30pm on Saturday from Eagle Square all the way up Front Street to Croft Road.

This year's market is sponsored by Hollies Day Nurseries.
