'Hundreds stuck in queue' for bar at Gloucestershire County Cricket vs Essex Eagles

Hundreds of punters have reportedly missed parts of Gloucestershire County Cricket's match against Essex Eagles due to long queues for the bar.

The t20 fixture at Bristol County Ground started at 6.30pm today (August 2) – but not all of the supporters in the venue were able to see it.

One fan, who did not want to be named, said: "Bar queues at the cricket are more than 30 minutes. Hundreds have missed the majority of Essex's innings."

Another tweeted: "If you're still sat down I honestly wouldn't bother getting up for a pint."

And one supporter commented: "Just let people bring their own [drinks] like we used to."

Gloucestershire County Cricket apologised for the difficulties.

In a Twitter statement, the club wrote: "We apologise to spectators at some of our bars tonight at the Bristol County Ground.

"Queues have been lengthy and we shall urgently review operations moving forward. Thank you for your patience."
