Hundreds release balloons in Sefton Park tribute to popular mum

Hundreds of people gathered to release colourful balloons in a stunning tribute in Sefton Park.

At around 5pm today on Tuesday hundreds of people gathered in the Liverpool park to release balloons to remember Kelsey Brown.

Kelsey tragically died on July 21 after moving to Spain with her young family.

The hairdresser was pregnant with her second child at the time of her death and the news of which has left her family, friends and former colleagues devastated.

Pictures of the event at Sefton Park show hundreds of colourful balloons being released into the sky in Kelsey's memory.

Her former employer, Robyn's Makeover Studio on Aigburth Road, posted on Instagram with a tribute from staff members: "Words cannot describe how we are feeling today.

"Kelsey, you left us for your happy ending. All you ever wanted was your little family.

"We are heartbroken. You came to work in my shop then Jodie, April, Hannah, Carly, and Sophie and we were like our own little circle of sisters.

"We used to bicker and skit each other and lecture April daily in that group chat. Our daily mantra was 'what are we eating today'.

"You were never down, always happy, always loving life. You lived for Harrison.

"That’s what kills us more than anything.

"We will all help look after him and make sure he never forgets your smiling face and how you just wanted life to be fun.

"Sleep well our beautiful girl along with your angel, we are truly lost without you."

Another friend and former colleague, April, said Kelsey "loved nothing more than to laugh".

Posting on Instagram Aprilsmake_up said: "How we were just sitting here four weeks ago having a beach day with you and bump is beyond me.

"You loved nothing more than a laugh, everything was about having a ball.

"I'll cherish your words of wisdom forever Kels and our friendship. A bond so special it's hard to explain, I'm so glad work brought us together as friends.

"I can't even write rest in peace because you should still be here, I'll love you forever, see you in my dreams."

Friend and fellow hairdresser Sophie Cowan said: "Kels where do I start? You have left us all completely heartbroken and I can't begin to explain just how devastated I am.

"To think how excited you were to meet your baby on Tuesday morning and now it feels like we are living a nightmare.

"I will miss our long voice notes moaning and asking each other for advice. Although we have only known each other for two years, we clicked.

"The amount of love people have shown proves how much you were loved. I lived for our group chats talking about absolutely everything and of course food all day every day, it will never be the same.

"Although you haven’t been here since December, the salon feels bare and empty now you're gone. Nobody will ever be able to replace you. The salon gang will never be the same again.

"Rest in peace Kels and your angel, you will be missed beyond belief."
