Hundreds raised in donations for funeral of Glenn Smith after Armley attack

An online fundraising page has been set up in a bid to raise money for the funeral of Leeds man Glenn Smith who died last week.

Glenn’s daughter Robyn Rhodes and her friend Claire Holt, created the page to raise £1,000.

So far the page has raised almost £850 from 43 donors.

Paying tribute to Glenn Smith, 47, who sadly died on August 20 after he was assaulted at an address in Whingate Avenue, Armley, he was described as a “loving father and friend” on the fundraising page.

It states: “Glen was a loving father and friend. He was born in Leeds 16, he was a lovable rogue who had his ups & downs like everybody does but he also had a heart of gold and would help anybody if he could. I know he will be missed by many from the area.

“With a heavy heart, I am asking for any contributions to help support the family during these horrific circumstances.

“All donations will be greatly appreciated and will allow the family to grieve without having to worry about funds and they can give the send-off he truly deserves.”
