Hundreds of mourners paid a heartbreaking farewell to a teacher who died after a Mother's Day fall.

Mum-of-one Lynn Browne is believed to have suffered a severe head injury after falling on a set of stairs last Sunday.

The 40-year-old art teacher was put on a life support machine, but sadly died on Monday, reports the Irish Mirror .

At her funeral today, Thursday, Lynn, from Co Louth, Ireland, was remembered as a beautiful, infectious and energetic wife, mother and friend.

A note read by her husband Ken said: "We love you pet and always will. You truly were one in a million".

Just hours before the tragic fall, Lynn has celebrated her 40th birthday with her twin sister Carol.

Chief celebrant Fr Barry Matthews told mourners at her funeral mass she would be remembered as “beautiful, infectious, driven, energetic and vibrant”.

He added: “How fantastic she was as a twin, a daughter and a sister.

“She had so much love for Ken and Baxter (their son). Ken, she will continue to get you through as you help Baxter through life’s journey.

Pennar death: Girl, 13, dies suddenly at home in 'awful tragedy'  

Mourners were asked to wear something colourful to the funeral, "as a tribute to Lynn's personality and love of life".

Independent Councillor Kevin Callan said her friends and family are devastated by Lynn’s untimely death.

He said: “My wife went to school with Lynn and her sister and we’re absolutely devastated at her passing.

“She was a thoroughly good and positive person and everybody in Drogheda is devastated that we’ve lost her.”

Cllr Callan revealed that Mrs Browne had just completed a masters degree and was also involved in athletics in the area.

Woman electrocuted after taking drugs at rave and falling onto live rail track  

Teachers and pupils at Ballymakenny College in Drogheda were trying to come to terms with her tragic death.

In a statement school principal Alan Mynes said: “We learned this morning of the death of our beloved colleague and teacher, Lynn Browne. 

“This is a terrible tragedy for the family, our school and our community. We are deeply saddened by this event. Our sympathy and thoughts are with her family and friends."
