Hundreds of skateboarders flew down San Francisco’s Dolores Street at obscene speeds

If you didn’t already know this, skateboarders have absolutely no fear. All you need to do is watch the latest video from the “hill bombing” at San Francisco’s Dolores Street to prove that.

Basically, the “hill bombing” is when skateboarders from around the Bay Area converge on the steep Dolores Street in the Mission District and then proceed to ride down that street.

Everything about it looked absurd. There were skaters wiping out at ridiculous speeds. Even the spectators were in danger of getting demolished by an out-of-control skater. And the event, drew hundreds of people who were willing to give Dolores Street a try.

Like, why:

I mean, NOPE.

The night was described, via SFgate.com:

Matt Beaton, 22, who traveled from Sacramento to skate Dolores, described the vibe as “super-charged.”

“Everyone was seeking maximum brutality of epic proportions,” said Beaton who has been skating for 15 years. “I got the invite today to come bomb some hills with my best friends and there’s nothing on earth I’d rather do.”

This all seems less than safe.
