Hundreds of North East bargain hunters gathered in the early hours of the morning for the Next sale.
Shoppers at the front of the queue at the store in the Silverlink Shopping Park in Wallsend, North Tyneside, had arrived around 3am, braving the cold weather.
By the time the doors opened at 6am several hundred people were outside with the queue snaking in front and then down the side and back of the store.

Next typically reduces the price of clothing, shoes and homeware by 50%, sometimes up to 70%.
The turn out was more impressive than that for Boxing Day sales on December 26 which failed to draw large crowds in Newcastle city centre.
A mixture of closed shops, Covid concerns and poor weather combined to keep people at home.
With more retailers than usual having pledged a day off to their employees - including Next - those bargain hunters who did venture out had fewer places to visit.
Inside Eldon Square, a few retailers had managed to entice people in to shop in person.
Most popular was beauty shop Lush, which attracted a queue of hundreds of people with its once-a-year sale, offering discounts which aren't available online.
