Mourners in their hundreds gathered this afternoon to pay a final, heartbreaking farewell to an art teacher who died following a tragic fall on Mother’s Day.
Lynn Browne was remembered as a beautiful, infectious and energetic wife, mother and friend.
In a touching note to his wife read from the pulpit at St Peter’s church in Drogheda, Co Louth, husband Ken said: “We love you pet and always will. You truly were one in a million.”
Mum-of-one Lynn lost her battle for life in hospital on Monday following a fall last Sunday.
Hours before tragedy struck, she had celebrated her 40th birthday with twin sister Carol, family and friends.
She was head of the art department and assistant principal at Drogheda’s Ballymakenny College, where Ken works as a caretaker.
Chief celebrant Fr Barry Matthews told mourners at her funeral mass she would be remembered as “beautiful, infectious, driven, energetic and vibrant”.
He added: “How fantastic she was as a twin, a daughter and a sister.
“She had so much love for Ken and Baxter (their son). Ken, she will continue to get you through as you help Baxter through life’s journey.
