More than 200 jobs have been lost after a legal services group based in Liverpool and Prescot entered administration.

Pure Business Group provided a range of end-to-end legal services within the civil litigation sector and had been handling over 20,000 live claims.

The group employed a total of 256 members of staff and has ceased trading with the immediate loss of 203 jobs.

Rob Armstrong, Michael Lennon and James Saunders, all of Kroll Advisory, were appointed joint administrators of Pure Business Group Limited, Astute Business Management Consultants Limited, Pure Technology Systems Limited, Pure Reporting Services Limited, Pure Claims Limited, Pure Legal Limited, Pure Claims Support Services Limited, Connect Costs Limited and Pure Costs Budgets Limited on November 2.

A Kroll statement said: "The joint administrators are taking the steps necessary to ensure all client files and monies are secure and claimants are being contacted to explain the next steps.

"The companies which together employed 256 staff and operated from sites in Liverpool and Prescot have ceased trading with immediate effect resulting in 203 redundancies.

"The administrators are working with the remaining employees to wind down operations and in providing support to redundant employees.

"Other companies within the wider group are unaffected by the appointment of the administrators to the companies."
