Leisure: Alton Towers is hiring around 950 workers ahead of its 2011 season. Almost 50 of the jobs are permanent roles based in the theme park and resort's bars, restaurants, kitchens and conference centre. Construction: Thousands of building jobs are to be created in Glasgow when work starts on a new arena being built in the city, according to the Evening Times. Construction giant Bovis Lend Lease is to recruit up to 3,000 workers during the construction of the £112m Scottish National Arena, which will stage gymnastic events and the netball final when the city hosts the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Building work on the site will begin in February and the project is due to be completed by 2013.
Insurance: A company which offers a referencing service to landlords is creating 30 jobs in Lincoln by moving part of its business from India to the city, according to This is Lincolnshire. HomeLet, which also offers insurance policies for tenants and landlords, is also creating an additional 20 posts in other parts of the business, including in sales and marketing. The remaining roles will be for referencing executives.
