Hundreds of homes left without electricity after power cut in Stockport

Hundreds of homes have been left without electricity after a power cut in Stockport.

More than 500 properties in areas with a SK3 and SK4 postcode have been left with no power this morning.

This is affecting homes in areas including Edgeley, Adswood and the Heatons.

Electricity North West said an engineer is on the way to the scene to investigate the problem.

In a tweet posted at around 9am, the service said: "I am sorry to report of a #powercut in the SK3 and SK4 area of #STOCKPORT affecting 507 customers.

"We have an engineer on their way to investigate the cause.

"More updates to follow shortly.

"If you require any further assistance, please call us on 105."
