Hundreds of Dublin homes without power due to electricity faults

There have been hundreds of homes in Dublin left without power this evening due to electricity faults.

The faults have been confirmed in several parts of the capital, including Drumcondra and Howth.

In Drumcondra it's estimated that power will be restored at around 9pm this evening. Around 380 customers are understood to be affected by the outage.

While in Howth the fault is at Howth Junction with just under 50 customers affected, and power is expected to be resorted just after 6pm this evening.

In a tweet this evening, ESB said: "We have a fault in the #Drumcondra and surrounding areas of #Dublin. We are working to repair as quickly as possible. You can log a fault online here: https://esbnetworks.ie/power-outages-updates/report-a-power-outage. Updates on http://powercheck.ie. Apologies for the inconvenience."
